Welcome to ANZBA Laos

The Australia New Zealand Business Association (ANZBA) was established, as the first foreign chamber of commerce in the Lao PDR, in September 2005. The ANZBA is a non-profit, unincorporated organization that brings together Australian and New Zealand businesses and individuals, in order to promote their mutual interests.

The ANZBA represents Australian and New Zealand business interests to government and non-government agencies, delivers a range of services to its members, and and provides a forum for business and social networking between Australian and New Zealand business and their Lao and other counterparts in the Lao PDR.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I am delighted, on behalf of the Board of Directors, to present this newly refreshed website to ANZBA members and others interested in the Association and its activities.

The Board has elected to invest ANZBA funds in updating the website so that the Association can stay relevant to the interests of Australian and New Zealand business in the Lao PDR.

Laos is experiencing rapid growth, and with it increased foreign investment and trade in goods and services.  We are witnessing, albeit from a limited base in what is a small developing economy, an increasingly sophisticated and open market.  In particular, Laos is transitioning from an overwhelmingly agricultural base through the hopefully sustainable exploitation of its natural resources, to a more fully diversified economy.

There are opportunities in this transition for Australian and New Zealand businesses and individuals, and the role of the ANZBA is to support those businesses to exploit and profit from those opportunities, in a manner that brings our two countries closer together.

Please browse the new ANZBA website and make use of our services.  Feel free, also, to contact us with your comments and suggestions.  I know that the new Board of the ANZBA looks forward to working with you.

Regards

Alistair Maclean
